CHS has released its newest text alert feature to keep propane customers informed of critical terminal updates.
With the alerts, CHS Propane customers can opt in for updates via the Propane Control Room (PCR) to receive texts on terminal shutdowns, delays, supply issues and other timely operational developments.
Before the rollout of terminal text alerts, CHS account managers relied on email and phone calls to make sure customers were in the loop on urgent terminal news, such as a local terminal in the process of shutting down for repairs.
Terminal text updates stemmed in part from customer desire for intel on the go. “A lot of our customers spend their days driving,” says Andrew Ernst, CHS Propane marketing manager. “Texts are the kind of updates they access safely when they have a chance.”
Just a few months after the alert’s launch, over 300 individual CHS customers have already opted in for terminal updates and account managers have received positive feedback from customers enjoying the feature.
The new tool has also been a boon in streamlining internal communication. CHS Transportation and Logistics staff, who are key partners in helping to make sure propane is where customers need it when they need it, will also receive critical terminal texts to ensure the business unit is prepared as terminal news develops.
